Not sure why the reviews are pretty low for this place. The food and service are very good! I was so happy to find out this place exists because I had previously been driving to Hyattsville to get some Latin food. This place has everything my family and I want: Mexican, Salvadorian, and even baleadas. My Mexican husband can get a torta or tacos and I can get some pupusas; everyone is happy. Gave it 5 stars given where it is and what it offers; however, if you are an avid Mexican/Salvadorian food eater (as I am), I would say it is not the best I have had but it is Good...and the people who work there are very friendly!

I would like to start by saying I had no idea this place was here. I wish I knew when it opened because I am starting to think I'm crazy. I have lived within waling distance of this place for a few months and am just now trying it. The food is delicious. Very fresh. I believe they make it on the spot. The plantains are sweet and have that minimal crunch that I absolutely love. I got the stewed beef and soup and both were delicious. The food was very hot and seasoned perfectly. To add to the previous point, the food is made fresh so there is a little wait. If you are in a rush, you will do well to call ahead. The customer service is good and the only reason I did not give 5 stars is because, one, they forgot to give me my rice and 2, I have only been there once. But, if you want good food for a good price, this is a great place to go. I will definitely be back. I am glad they are in the neighborhood. It's nice to have a little variety than the fast food places that are so prevalent in the area.

To slow, they don't always have everything on the menu, priced to high compared to similar cuisine around the beltway, they say they're open for breakfast and the door is always closed. Wish I could give raving reviews, maybe they'll get better over time.

Will NEVER EVER do this again. Stood at the counter for over 8 mins while the person taking my order talked to others, walked back and forth, bust tables and chatted on her personal cell phone. When she finally took my order she kept repeating it back wrong. Fast forward to going against my better judgement and paying for this take out order.... Many people (11) came and went without ordering due to the poor service and absent staff. I placed my order at 12:45 and now at 1:20... I am inquiring about the amount of time I must continue waiting. All of a sudden it's like the cook got off her butt and started. At this point I requested a refund of the $37.90 I paid to order lunch for myself and a friend. Of course I was told she didn't know how to do that. By now, I'm almost livid and remind you... I am the ONLY person in here. If it weren't for the glowing reviews, I would have never tried this hole-in-the-wall spot in the first place. Some lady comes out to ask me to take a seat as the food will be available at any moment... I remind her that I have been waiting for 40 mins... On LUNCH in an EMPTY restaurant!!! Instead of acting out of character, I thanked them when they finally handed me my bag at 1:34 along with an apology and a free 16oz bottle of soda. When I arrived home, the food was mediocre at best. It was edible but in now way impressive or worth half the time of the wait. It is a last resort at best.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
